How to Install gfortran software package in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin)

gfortran software package provides GNU Fortran 95 compiler, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install gfortran

gfortran is installed in your system.

Make ensure the gfortran package were installed using the commands given below,

$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gfortran *

You will get with gfortran package name, version, architecture and description in a table
